Chip giant Nvidia surpassed Apple to become the world's most valuable company by market capitalization on November 5, as the artificial intelligence (AI) craze continues to excite Wall Street.
Accordingly, Nvidia's shares increased by 2.9% in the latest trading session, to 139.93 USD/share, bringing the group's market capitalization to 3.43 trillion USD, surpassing Apple at 3.38 trillion USD.
In June, Nvidia briefly became the most valuable company on the planet, though that record only lasted for a day. Now, the company is worth more than Amazon and Meta combined.
The world's top tech companies have invested tens of billions of dollars in Nvidia's AI technology, which is a central component for training AI systems like OpenAI's ChatGPT or Google's Gemini.
Nvidia is scheduled to join the Dow Jones Index on November 8, marking the company's remarkable growth with its stock price increasing more than 8.5 times since the end of 2022, when ChatGPT launched, sparking a global AI craze./.
