Mr. Vu Tien Hoa, Deputy Director of Lai Chau Department of Education and Training, said that in the 2025 high school graduation exam, the whole province has 4,446 candidates registered to take the exam, of which 206 are independent candidates (candidates taking the exam according to the 2006education program), the remaining candidates take the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 education program.
According to Mr. Hoa, since this is the first year that the high school graduation exam is conducted according to the 2018 General Education Program, from the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training has organized a workshop to improve the quality and distribution of high school graduation exam scores for the two subjects of Math and Literature, and at the same time issued documents guiding and directing educational institutions with students taking the high school graduation exam to develop a review and revision plan for grade 12 students. In which, a review and revision roadmap is developed according to student groups, focusing on reviewing core content for students, suitable for students' abilities; ensuring to meet the requirements of innovation in testing, assessment and sample exam structure for high school graduation exams of the Ministry of Education and Training .
In the last month before the exam, Lai Chau Department of Education and Training continues to direct educational institutions to strengthen the review work for students until the exam is held. Based on the results of the first high school graduation mock exam, continue to adjust the review plan, classify students, in which specific solutions are developed for groups of students wishing to register for university and college admission and groups of students whose results have not met the set targets. In addition to the 2 mock exams organized by the Department of Education and Training, educational institutions increase the organization of mock exams or coordinate with local educational institutions to organize mock exams by school cluster so that students can grasp the exam regulations, creating the best mentality for students entering the exam.
Review the parts that are easy to lose points
This year, Nam Dinh province has over 23,000 candidates taking the high school graduation exam. The number of candidates registering for elective subjects is the highest in Physics, nearly 11,000, followed by Chemistry, Geography, History, and Foreign Languages. The results of the second semester quality survey of 12th graders in the whole province show that the highest average score is in Informatics (with 11 candidates taking the exam) at 8.50 and the lowest is in Mathematics at 5.97. Tong Van Tran High School (Y Yen, Nam Dinh) has 495 12th graders taking the high school graduation exam this school year.
From the second semester of the school year, professional groups and teams will compile and exploit sources of documents to support review; update reference questions for the 2025 high school graduation exam, analyze to guide review; proactively exchange expertise and experience in organizing graduation exam review with units inside and outside the province; share sources of documents and review questions trained by the Department of Education and Training to all staff and teachers of professional groups in the school; develop a graduation exam review plan for 12th grade students without collecting fees from March 3 to June 21.
The school focuses on guiding students in learning and self-study methods, paying special attention to the new format of multiple-choice test questions; strengthening the testing and evaluation of students' review results; encouraging the exploitation and use of software and review websites to provide online review, testing and evaluation materials, and manage students' review. Ensuring that all students, especially grade 12 students, keep up with the work of enhancing self-study, with advice, assistance, and support from subject teachers in supplementary lessons according to school regulations and the process of self-study at home.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, the whole city has nearly 125,000 candidates registered to take the exam, of which nearly 120,000 are 12th graders, the rest are independent candidates. Mr. Le Hong Chung, Principal of Yen Hoa High School, Cau Giay (Hanoi) said that although achieving results among the top in the city in the recent survey of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the school thoroughly conveyed the spirit to teachers and students not to be subjective.
This year, for the first time, students will take the test in a new multiple choice format. In subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, the multiple choice test includes 3 types of multiple choice questions (multiple choice, true/false, short answer). Of which, 4 multiple choice questions in true/false format and 8 short answer questions are the new multiple choice format. The true/false format is the easiest for candidates to lose points because if a candidate gets just 1 of the 4 answers wrong in each question, they will lose 50% of the points/question. Therefore, teachers focus on practicing the types of lessons that students are having difficulty with and often lose points.
Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Official Dispatch No. 61/CD-TTg on organizing the high school graduation exam, ensuring the staffing of preschool and general education teachers and summer vacation for children and students in 2025. Accordingly, in order for the exam to take place safely, seriously, compactly and effectively, the Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to take full responsibility for the exam in their localities, ensuring that the organization of the exam is not affected by the arrangement of the apparatus.
