US President Biden affirmed that Arab Americans are "hurting" over the war in Gaza, pledging to promote humanitarian aid to the region.
President Biden said he was "heartbroken" by the suffering of Arab Americans and said he was working to increase humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, free hostages held by Hamas and establish a ceasefire.

President Biden's statement came as many Muslims and Arabs in the US called on him to push for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, instead of a short-term deal. They also asked the White House to stop selling weapons to Israel, increase protection for civilians and prevent the risk of a humanitarian crisis.
Several rallies calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip have been held in major US cities in recent months, including Washington, DC.

Protesters have frequently disrupted Biden’s campaign events, including a major fundraiser in New York City on March 28. They say Biden must meet their demands if he wants to win support in the presidential election later this year.
Observers say the Arab-American community is unlikely to support Donald Trump, Biden's opponent, but they may not vote and cause the US President to lose many votes.
