President Biden cut short a trip to the coastal town of Rehoboth Beach to quickly return to Washington and meet with his national security team on Saturday afternoon.

Members of Congress began issuing statements largely in favor of Israel defending itself against attack.
“I just spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu to reaffirm the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security,” the White House quoted a statement from President Biden in Washington late Saturday night as saying. “I told him that Israel has demonstrated an outstanding ability to defend and defeat even unprecedented attacks.”
The United Nations Security Council said Saturday night it plans to convene on Sunday, at 4 p.m. on April 14.
"Tomorrow, I will convene my G7 leaders to coordinate a unified diplomatic response to Iran's brazen attack," Biden said in a statement.
