
Currently, women in Ward 1, Bao Loc, account for about 60% of agricultural workers, mainly focusing on growing perennial industrial crops such as durian, coffee, mangosteen, tea... and raising livestock on a household scale, playing a key role in developing local agricultural production.
Many women have boldly applied technical advances, transformed the structure of crops and livestock, and participated in collective economic models, cooperatives, and cooperatives established with the support of the association. Through this, they have contributed to increasing income, improving life, and affirming the positive role of women in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
In addition, women entrepreneurs and small traders account for 30%, most of whom participate in small businesses, catering services, beauty salons, food, goods manufacturing, etc., playing an important role in promoting local trade and services.
Ms. Khuc Thi Le (residential group 2, ward 1, Bao Loc) is an active member in developing household economy. With 2,000 m2 of greenhouse for growing vegetable varieties, each year, after deducting expenses, she earns about 400 million VND. Her vegetable nursery also creates jobs for 5 local women.
Ms. Le confided: “Promoting the role of women, especially in developing the family economy, I always try to actively work and produce. Thanks to that, over the years, the family economy has been stable, the children have been raised and educated properly. The family also creates conditions for many women to have regular jobs and stable incomes.”
Along with that, to develop the household economy, the Women's Union of Ward 1 Bao Loc has focused on propagating and mobilizing female cadres and members to participate in converting ineffective crop and livestock varieties to high-value crops, participating in production according to VietGAP standards, registering growing area codes, and participating in cooperatives. By the beginning of 2025, the average production value per unit of agricultural land area is estimated to reach 140 million VND/ha/year.
Implementing Project 939 "Supporting women to start a business in the period of 2017 - 2025", in recent years, the association has promoted propaganda and mobilization activities to arouse the spirit and inner strength of each woman, boldly having creative ideas and business plans to start a business. The branches maintained capital contributions with 1,971 members participating, with a total capital contribution of 582 million VND, helping 64 women borrow to develop their family economy.
The Women's Union of Ward 1, Bao Loc also actively cooperated with departments and offices to help women's families build OCOP products for coffee products, register the trademark of Bao Loc durian and mangosteen. Many women joined cooperatives to implement models such as: Coffee production, High-tech orchid growing, Egg-laying chicken farming, Black fungus model, Hydroponic vegetable model...
Ms. Dinh Thi Bac - Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Ward 1, Bao Loc said: The whole ward currently has 5,429 members, in general, women always actively participate in movements launched by the locality and the union at all levels. Based on the general plan of the ward, the union has proactively developed a poverty reduction plan, in which each member of the executive committee is clearly assigned to participate in helping poor and near-poor households in many forms such as: loans; livelihood support, house repair... Thereby, contributing to the locality in implementing poverty reduction work with many results. By the end of 2025, the whole ward will have only 2 poor households and 14 near-poor households.
