Mobilizing forces to search for missing fishermen at Lien Huong estuary

Information from the Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station (Lam Dong) said that on the afternoon of November 27, a boat capsized in the area, causing one fisherman to go missing.

At about 3:50 p.m. the same day, Mr. Huynh Vu (born in 1992) and Mr. Duong Quang Son (born in 1985), both residing in village 9 Lien Huong, Lien Huong commune, rowed a boat to the Lien Huong river mouth to retrieve the anchor that had sunk earlier. However, large waves at the river mouth overturned the boat.

Mr. Vu was lucky to swim to shore safely, but Mr. Son was missing. The boat capsized and sank into the sea.

Immediately after the incident, Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station mobilized fishing vessels to approach the scene for rescue, but due to big waves, the victim sank very quickly so they could not be saved in time.

The unit has sent 6 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the military forces of Lien Huong commune and local people to organize the search; at the same time, 2 officers were sent to visit and encourage the victim's family. Local forces continue to be mobilized to search for the missing person in complicated weather conditions at sea.
