Mr. Lam Dong was elected Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Lam Dong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

On the afternoon of October 16, the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, term VII, 2021-2026, held a special meeting to carry out personnel work within its authority and consider and decide on a number of other important contents.

Regarding personnel work, the meeting voted to elect Mr. Lam Dong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

As a result of the vote counting, 100% of delegates attending the meeting agreed to elect Mr. Lam Dong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term VII, 2021-2026.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Lam Dong affirmed that he and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the committees of the Provincial People's Council will inherit valuable experiences, strive, uphold the sense of responsibility, constantly innovate, and improve the quality of activities of the Provincial People's Council.

The new Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council emphasized the goal of building the Provincial People's Council into a truly local state power agency, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people.

Mr. Lam Dong, 54 years old, from Gia Lai province, has a Master's degree in Party Building and State Administration, a Bachelor's degree in English Pedagogy, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Education.

From December 2020 to June 2025, Mr. Dong was Head of the Organization Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee (old).

On July 1, when Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces merged into the new Khanh Hoa province, Mr. Dong held the position of Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

At the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, Mr. Lam Dong was appointed by the Central Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
