Today (April 22), implementing the direction of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Quang Ninh province that there are no forbidden areas or exceptions in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, Quang Ninh Provincial Police have expanded the investigation into the case of abusing position and power while performing official duties related to the violations of Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company that occurred at Dong Trieu Town Medical Center.
Based on the violations of the relevant collectives and individuals, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police has issued a decision to prosecute Mr. Pham Van Thanh (former Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Dong Trieu Town People's Committee) and Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (former Vice Chairman of Dong Trieu Town People's Committee) for the crime of lack of responsibility causing serious consequences.
The above decisions have been approved by the People's Procuracy of Quang Ninh province.
According to information about the incident posted on the Quang Ninh Provincial Electronic Information Portal, in the process of directing epidemic prevention work, Mr. Pham Van Thanh and Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, although not for personal gain, gave instructions that violated regulations and lacked responsibility, leading to serious consequences.
This is a case under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Quang Ninh province.
Also related to this case, previously on June 13, 2022, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police initiated a case and prosecuted 4 officials of functional agencies of Dong Trieu Town.
