Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, Mr. Erdogan declared: "As President, I swear with honor and integrity before the great and historic country of Turkey to protect the existence and independence of the Fatherland..., to adhere to the Constitution, the rule of law, democracy, the principles and reforms of the late President Ataturk, and the principles of the republic."

President Erdogan is Türkiye's longest-serving leader. He won 52.2% of the vote in the election on May 28.
The leader's victory defied most polls, despite Türkiye's cost-of-living crisis.
On May 29, President Erdogan called for "unity and unity" after winning a narrow victory in the second round of the presidential election.
Speaking to supporters outside the Presidential Palace in the capital Ankara, Mr Erdogan stressed that the election was the "most important" event for Türkiye in the modern era.
"We should come together and unite. I call for this with all my heart," he urged. "Today... the entire country of 85 million people has won."
President Erdogan also pledged to carry out the project to build an international gas hub in Türkiye as previously proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I will further strengthen Turkey's position by investing in the transport and energy sectors, which are the basic infrastructure for world-class development," he affirmed.
