On the evening of November 14th, the National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Friday 2025, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, officially opened. This year's program takes place from November 13th to 17th nationwide with a rich and diverse range of activities.
Building trust and protecting consumers.
In her opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Thang stated that according to statistics, by 2024, the total value of e-commerce transactions in Southeast Asia had exceeded US$100 billion, with Vietnam's e-commerce retail revenue reaching US$25 billion. Vietnam is ranked among the countries with the highest e-commerce growth rate in the region and is in the top 10 fastest-growing countries in the world , ranking third in Southeast Asia in terms of market size, after Indonesia and Thailand, with over sixty million people participating in online shopping.
Over the years, one of the biggest obstacles for consumers when shopping online has been concern about product quality. In addition, the issue of substandard goods, counterfeit goods, and goods infringing intellectual property rights is a prominent problem in both e-commerce and traditional commerce.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized that organizing the Online Friday 2025 e-commerce week event with the theme "Safety - Peace of Mind - Joy" this year demonstrates the Ministry of Industry and Trade's determination to accompany transparent, user-friendly, and positive e-commerce platforms, promoting the role of the management agency and enhancing the responsibility of digital platforms, e-commerce marketplaces, and sellers in building trust and protecting consumer rights.

The Vietnam Online Friday 2025 program includes a series of activities: the Opening Ceremony - Kick-off of Vietnam Online Friday 2025 with participation from localities nationwide; an e-commerce experience space along with a Mega Livestream program sharing and providing information, distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit goods, and offering many valuable shopping vouchers from partners at participating stores; and 60 hours of live shopping on Vietnam Online Friday 2025 with the participation of hundreds of e-commerce websites and thousands of offers for consumers from reputable partners and brands in Vietnam.
In addition, the program also organizes interactive activities and sharing sessions between consumers and sellers with celebrities, leading experts in e-commerce, and major e-commerce platforms, thereby enhancing the consumer shopping experience and making online shopping more enjoyable with the spirit of "living is fun, living is fun."
Shop with peace of mind and safety.
Affirming the meaningful theme of this year's Online Friday, "Safety - Peace of Mind - Joy," Mr. Phan Manh Ha, Director of External Relations at Shopee, stated that Shopee has worked with thousands of brands and utilized its Shopee Mall and Shopee Premium sales systems to participate in the program.
"Shopee Mall and Shopee Premium are online stores where our goods are 100% genuine and consumer rights are guaranteed. For example, consumers can return or exchange goods within 15 days and enjoy other consumer rights. That's why we decided to invest heavily in this year's festival with promotional vouchers up to 50% off, along with livestream sessions to create a joyful atmosphere for the event," Mr. Ha said.
Sharing his thoughts on the theme of Online Friday 2025, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, Representative of TikTok Vietnam, said that this year's theme is "Safety, Peace of Mind, and Joy," which is also a theme that TikTok Shop has been implementing throughout 2025 with the hashtag "Shop with Peace of Mind." Along with Vietnam E-commerce Week, more than 6 million content creators and sellers on the TikTok Shop platform will create short videos with the hashtag "Online Friday" and messages related to the event.
With Vietnam E-commerce Week 2025, TikTok Shop aims to reach one billion people in Vietnam with the event's message and build digital trust in Vietnamese e-commerce with the event's message: "Safe - Secure - Happy."
According to a representative from TikTok Vietnam, the content conveyed to the public through these short videos will encourage not only the community of sellers and content creators but also users to work together to build digital trust in the future of e-commerce. This will help buyers feel more secure, provide sellers with a transparent and clear environment, and allow legitimate merchants to thrive without being outcompeted by those engaging in illegal activities.
With a theme focused on safe, sustainable, and consumer-centric e-commerce, the "National E-commerce Week and Online Shopping Day 2025" promises to continue to be a key event, contributing to boosting domestic consumption, expanding the digital market, and developing the digital economy in Vietnam.
The National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Friday are annual national-scale events, symbolizing the promotion of e-commerce and the digital economy in Vietnam. The program aims to implement Decision No. 645/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2020, of the Prime Minister approving the "National E-commerce Development Program for the period 2021-2025".
