Agencies and units give gifts to support people in disaster areas

DNO - On the afternoon of November 14, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Huynh Thi Thuy Dung and leaders of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command visited and presented gifts to households that suffered heavy losses due to floods in Tra Doc and Tra Tan communes.

In Tra Doc commune, the recent flood caused 4 houses to partially collapse, 95 households' properties were affected; the domestic water system in village 8 had a filter tank collapsed; 43 landslides and traffic between villages was cut off and has not yet been repaired.

On this occasion, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee coordinated with the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 to present 60 gifts to households in difficult circumstances affected by floods and 7 gifts to village elders and prestigious people in ethnic minorities of Tra Doc commune.

Before that, the delegation presented 28 gifts to poor households and 7 village elders and prestigious people in Tra Tan commune.

Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Huynh Thi Thuy Dung and leaders of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command visited and presented gifts to encourage two households of Mr. Nguyen Hong Tam and Mr. Dinh Van Dung, both residing in Tra Tan commune, whose houses collapsed due to landslides during the recent floods.

* On November 14, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of Da Nang City came to give gifts to support households in Vu Gia and Phu Thuan communes affected by floods.

According to the report, in Vu Gia commune, 6,366 households in 13/13 villages in the commune had houses flooded from 0.5 to 3 meters deep. Total damage was estimated at more than 78 billion VND. Meanwhile, in Phu Thuan commune, more than 2,500 houses were flooded, of which 289 houses were flooded from 1 to 3 meters deep.

The working group presented 238 gifts to households in Vu Gia commune and 150 gifts to households in Phu Thuan commune. Each gift is worth 800,000 VND, including 500,000 VND in cash, rice and some necessities.
