OpenAI brings Sora video creation tool to Android, supporting Vietnamese users

(Dan Tri) - The Sora video creation tool is now available on the Android platform, and has expanded support to more countries, including Vietnam.

At the end of September, OpenAI launched Sora 2, its latest AI tool for generating videos from descriptive text. This is an upgraded version of the Sora text-based video generator tool that OpenAI launched in February 2024.

At the time of its launch, Sora 2 was only available for iOS platforms and was limited to users in the US and Canada.

Recently, OpenAI has continued to bring Sora 2 to the Android platform and expanded it to users in Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand and Vietnam.

Currently, Android users in Vietnam can search for Sora on the Google Play app store to install and use on their devices.

The biggest advantage of Sora 2 is that it allows users to create videos from descriptive text with the ability to simulate the laws of physics accurately, making the video more realistic and real, especially when objects move and interact with each other.

Sora 2 also allows for audio creation and voiceovers as per user requirements. The voice over video supports multiple languages, including Vietnamese. The faces of the characters in the video are able to move their lips to match their voices.

This is the outstanding advantage of Sora 2 compared to other AI video creation tools today, when most of the video creation tools from descriptive text do not support audio and voice creation (except for Google's Veo 3 tool).

A standout feature of Sora 2 is called “Cameo”, which allows users to insert themselves into the created video.

To do this, users simply upload a short video recording their face and voice as a sample, Sora 2 will rely on the content provided by the user to insert them into the created video in the smoothest way, according to the user's description.

Each video created by Sora 2 is up to 10 seconds long. The app will also label the video content with “Sora” so viewers can recognize and distinguish that these are AI-generated content and not real videos.

Sora 2's outstanding features helped the application reach the milestone of one million downloads in less than 5 days after its launch and topped Apple's App Store for nearly 3 weeks.

Sora 2 is still in the top 5 most downloaded free apps on the App Store.
