On the morning of October 20, 2024, at Thien Quang Lake, Hanoi, Vietnam National Petroleum Group ( Petrolimex / Group) held the Launching Ceremony of the "Petrolimex 2024 - For a Green Vietnam" Run. The Run attracted the participation of thousands of Petrolimex officers and employees across the country through online connections at more than 20 locations.
Attending the launching ceremony at the Hanoi bridge point, on the guest delegation side, there were comrade Phan Van Ban, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union; comrade Hoang Thi Minh Thu, member of the Central Standing Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Bloc, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Business Bloc.
The Central Committee and comrades representing the Leaders of units that are partners and close customers of Petrolimex.
On Petrolimex's side, there were Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors Pham Van Thanh; Board of Directors member, General Director Dao Nam Hai; Deputy General Director, Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tu and comrades who are members of the Party Standing Committee, Board of Directors, General Directors, State Capital Representative Group at the Group, representatives of the Group's departments and offices; Leaders of the Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth Union of the Group's affiliated units in the Hanoi area.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex Pham Van Thanh shared: “This Petrolimex Run spreads the message For a Green Vietnam . The Group calls on organizations, units and individuals to join hands in responding to climate change, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and protecting a green and clean environment. The Run is not only a sporting event, but also a meaningful activity, demonstrating Petrolimex's commitment to the environment and the sustainable development of the country.”
In the context of climate change, environmental protection has become a more urgent task than ever. The Vietnamese Government has set a target of achieving net-zero by 2050, committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the use of renewable energy. Petrolimex, as one of the leading energy groups, has been actively implementing solutions to switch to green, clean and environmentally friendly energy.
The Petrolimex Run - For a Green Vietnam was organized to affirm the concern of Petrolimex's leaders and leaders of its affiliated units, and at the same time affirm the spirit of solidarity, determination, and readiness to overcome difficulties and challenges of the collective of officers, employees, and workers of Petrolimex member units; demonstrating the beauty of cultural traditions and responsibility to the community that have been created and maintained over the years.
This year's race has a special meaning as for each accumulated kilometer, Petrolimex will donate 5,000 VND to the tree planting fund, contributing to greening the country. The race is a practical activity to respond to the guiding spirit of the Government's National Strategy on Climate Change, aiming at the goal of balancing Net Zero emissions by 2050. At the same time, it is a sport activity, improving the health of Petrolimex employees, contributing to serving the production and business activities at Petrolimex well.
At the launching ceremony, Petrolimex units actively responded and contributed to the Petrolimex tree planting fund with a total amount of 810 million VND. With an enthusiastic and united spirit, athletes competed together in the cheerleading runs of 1.2km - 2.5km - 5km and achieved many high achievements. The Petrolimex - For a Green Vietnam Run was organized online from October 20, 2024 to November 3, 2024.
