Benat Prados' injury after taking a full-on tackle from Lindelof. |
At Old Trafford, Benat Prados was brought on in the 62nd minute with Bilbao leading 1-0. He was immediately tackled by Lindelof, causing blood to flow from a deep cut. Just one minute after Mason Mount equalized for United, he had to leave the field and have stitches made by Lindelof.
Prados shared a picture of the injury on Instagram , expressing his dissatisfaction with referee Daniel Siebert's decision when he did not see the foul. He wrote: "No red card, no yellow card, no foul, play on.
Bilbao Club was also upset: "The player suffered a strong tackle that the referee (or VAR) did not intervene, causing injuries and bruises on the front of his right leg. Prados' recovery process is being monitored."
MU booked their place in the Europa League final after beating Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate over two legs. They will face Tottenham in an all-English final.
The much-anticipated match between the "Red Devils" and "Roosters" will take place at 2am on May 22 at San Mames Stadium (Bilbao). The winning team will have their first European title after many years of waiting, along with a ticket to the League Phase, UEFA Champions League 2025/26.
