Phan Son Commune (new) was established on the basis of merging two administrative units including Phan Son Commune and Phan Lam Commune, with a natural area of 584.52 ^km2 and a population of 7,428 people.

Previously, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued a decision on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Phan Son Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Specifically, the Phan Son Commune Party Executive Committee was appointed to consist of 18 members; the Commune Party Standing Committee was appointed to consist of 7 members.
