Comrade Pham Van Nam - Secretary of the City Party Committee informed about the results of the city's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

At the meeting, comrade Le Huy Toan - Provincial Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Binh Thuan Newspaper - member of the Provincial Steering Committee as head of Inspection Team No. 1 of the Provincial Steering Committee highly appreciated the determination and results that Phan Thiet City achieved in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

Comrade Le Huy Toan - Editor-in-Chief of Binh Thuan Newspaper - member of the Steering Committee spoke on behalf of Inspection Team No. 1 of the Provincial Steering Committee.

According to Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Van Nam, the city has been strictly implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, closely implementing all steps. The City Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses (City Steering Committee) has directed localities to carefully review cases eligible for support, ensuring publicity, transparency and targeting the right subjects. During the review process, additional subjects have been added to create equality, so that those who are truly in difficulty have a place to live.

To effectively implement the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the City Steering Committee has directed the City People's Committee to develop a plan for implementation, and the Party Committees of wards and communes have established Steering Committees to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality. The city has organized 2 launching ceremonies for the emulation movement of the whole people "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality"...

Up to now, Phan Thiet City has completed 81/83 houses, 2 houses in Phu Trinh ward are being completed, expected to be handed over in May and 1 case in Mui Ne ward has been removed from the support list.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and the Department of Internal Affairs spoke.

At the meeting, the leader of the City Department of Internal Affairs said that there are currently 7 additional cases that have completed all the documents and legal procedures but have not yet been allocated funding. The inspection team suggested that the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee could be asked to support some urgent cases.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Thiet City informed: 13 cases were granted funding but no longer needed support, so they were returned. The city proposed to transfer this source to support 3 newly arising cases so that procedures do not have to be redone from the beginning, ensuring progress and effective use of the budget.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Inspection Team, Comrade Le Huy Toan - Editor-in-Chief of Binh Thuan Newspaper highly appreciated the results that Phan Thiet has achieved and requested the locality to strive to complete the set goals.

Comrade Le Huy Toan assessed: In the initial period of implementing the Project, Phan Thiet City was a new locality, after the province's groundbreaking time to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the direction and determination to implement the program, the city's progress in implementing the program was quite high. The implementation steps from thoroughly grasping to issuing related decisions, reviewing households according to each housing support object were all ensured. Comrade Le Huy Toan suggested that the city continue to do a good job of propaganda, strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure quality and handle arising problems. With the opinions and recommendations, comrade Le Huy Toan said that the delegation will synthesize to report to the Provincial Steering Committee for support and resolution plans.

On the same afternoon, Inspection Team No. 1 and members of the City Steering Committee also conducted a field survey of two households: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai (Ward 6, Phu Thuy Ward) and Ms. Tran Thi Anh (Ward 4, Xuan An Ward) to record the actual housing construction, living conditions of the people and listen to further support proposals.
