In addition to being fined, Mr. Minh was also forced to restore the original environmental status according to the law.

Mr. Minh (brown shirt) at Mui Ne Ward People's Committee admitted his actions and accepted punishment.

Previously, a clip filmed by a foreign tourist, clearly showing Mr. Minh wearing a tourist uniform blatantly burying trash on Mui Ne beach, was widely shared on social media, attracting attention and outrage from the community. Immediately after receiving the information on the afternoon of April 7, the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward stepped in to verify. Mr. Pham Quoc Bao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the Ward and a representative of the Ham Tien - Mui Ne Tourist Area Management Board invited Mr. Tran Ngoc Minh to work and draw up a record of the violation.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Minh's behavior of burying garbage at the beach

At the meeting, Mr. Minh admitted his actions and confirmed that the person in the clip was him. According to his statement, on April 4, 2025, the owner of the facility where Mr. Minh worked had deployed employees to clean up the beach area to serve the upcoming April 30 - May 1 holiday. He collected garbage in the sea area behind the facility into piles and dug a hole to bury the garbage right on the beach. He did this on his own, without consulting the owner of the facility.

“I realize that burying garbage is wrong. Through the content of the clip and the meeting with the authorities, I realize that my behavior is wrong, affecting the environment and the tourism image of the locality. I promise not to repeat the offense,” Mr. Minh stated.

The act of burying waste on the beach not only violates environmental protection regulations, but also seriously affects the tourism image of Mui Ne, a famous destination that attracts millions of visitors each year. Local authorities said they will continue to strengthen inspections, supervision, and strictly handle environmental violations, especially in beach areas that regularly attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
