Launching and receiving support for people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10

On October 3, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a Conference to discuss issues related to the mobilization, reception, distribution and use of voluntary contributions to support people affected by storm No. 10 (Bualoi); at the same time, launched a campaign to mobilize and receive contributions to support people affected by storm No. 10 in the Northern and Central provinces.

Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, said that immediately after receiving information about the damage caused by storm No. 10 in the Northern and Central provinces, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City requested the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to provide initial support of 28 billion VND to localities severely affected by natural disasters, including: Ha Tinh province 10 billion VND, Nghe An province 7 billion VND, Quang Tri province 5 billion VND, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa provinces each 2 billion VND.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City is investigating and reviewing the damage caused by the storm and its circulation in the affected areas to provide support. It is expected that the unit will also organize a delegation representing the Party Committee, the government and the people of the City to convey their feelings, hearts and donations to the people in the affected areas as soon as possible.

At the Conference, representatives of units, departments, branches, organizations and unions presented plans to mobilize and support localities affected by storm No. 10 such as the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union plans to organize a group of young doctors to examine people after the storm and flood, the City Health Department and hospitals will provide medicine bags containing 12 basic medicines to support people...

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City shared that storm No. 10 has left serious consequences on the health, lives and property of people in the Northern and Central provinces. The post-storm recovery work of the people will certainly be difficult and prolonged, this is the time when the people need support from Ho Chi Minh City as well as the people of the whole country. Therefore, the support work needs to be deployed as quickly as possible, at the highest level but must be focused, key, appropriate to the actual situation and needs of the people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, the work of supporting people affected by storms and floods needs to be implemented in 3 phases: Response, recovery, and recovery. Agencies, departments, branches, unions, and social organizations need to contact equivalent units in localities affected by storms and floods to know the needs and content of assistance and support; require units to launch, mobilize, and receive support to comply with the provisions of the law according to the principles of publicity and transparency, creating trust for the people.

In the spirit of "Ho Chi Minh City with the whole country, for the whole country", on the morning of October 3, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City officially launched a campaign to mobilize and receive donations to support people affected in the Northern and Central provinces by storm No. 10.

Also on October 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society held a launching ceremony and received more than 1 billion VND from local Red Cross societies and philanthropists to provide emergency relief to people in provinces affected by natural disasters. The City Red Cross Society will continue to receive support for people affected by natural disasters until October 31, 2025.

* In Khanh Hoa , responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to join hands to support people in provinces affected by storm No. 10, on the morning of October 3, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized a campaign among all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, organizations, and enterprises in the province to join hands to support with material and spiritual means to share the difficulties with people affected by the recent storm and flood.

At the launching ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien stated that recently due to the impact of storm No. 10, the provinces in the Central and North Central regions have suffered a lot of damage to people and property. People's lives have encountered countless difficulties and suffered much pain due to the loss of loved ones and property... To share those difficulties, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province have urgently launched a campaign throughout the province to join hands to support people affected by storms and floods.

Accordingly, promoting the tradition of "mutual love", "national love, compatriotism", "the whole leaf covers the torn leaf", "the little torn leaf covers the much torn leaf", the launching ceremony attracted a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, organizations, individuals and philanthropists, and businesses to respond very strongly. Thereby sharing and helping spiritually and materially, contributing together with the Party and State to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods so that people have faith, determination and conditions to quickly restore production and stabilize their lives.

The leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that right after the launching ceremony on the morning of October 3, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province was honored to receive over 2.3 billion VND from the benevolent, noble and affectionate hearts of those who carry the blood of Lac Hong. All the received funds will be urgently transferred to support the people as soon as possible.

Agencies, units, local authorities and people in Khanh Hoa province are continuing to join hands to support people affected by storm No. 10, helping them to ease their loss and pain and soon stabilize their lives.
