TPO - A senior lawmaker said the Senate Armed Services Committee is preparing to hold a hearing to improve the credibility of the Pentagon's UFO unit. The announcement of the hearing comes just two weeks after a video of a "giant UFO" with "tons of flashing and spinning lights" was posted on Reddit.
At the end of August, many people in Montana recorded a strange scene and believed it was a 'giant' UFO with a series of flashing lights rotating, about 100km from the Air Force's nuclear weapons base. These witnesses were bewildered, some even trembled and cried because of this experience.
A video of a "giant UFO" with "tons of flashing and spinning lights" posted by a witness on the social network Reddit has attracted much public attention.
The scene was captured in Choteau, Montana, less than 100 kilometers from Malmstrom Air Force Base - a major nuclear missile facility. |
When some suggested that the phenomenon could be due to Elon Musk's Starlink communications satellite constellation, the witness immediately disputed it.
“I am familiar with Starlink videos. We observed the object very closely, and it was clearly visible as lights surrounding the silhouette of a large spacecraft,” the witness said.
The man said the incident happened at around 10pm (local time) on August 31, adding that his wife was "trembling and crying because of the experience".
“The pictures aren’t scary, but seeing what you truly believe is a massive object in the silent night sky fly over your head and fly towards your home is much more emotional,” the witness said.
A Capitol Hill investigation comes as more Americans have reported UFO sightings. Many have questioned the work of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which was created in July 2022 as a government agency charged with investigating reports of unidentified aerial phenomena.
The sight of a hovering object with a series of flashing lights rotating around made many people think it was a UFO and caused a stir. |
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat from New York, said she was working to schedule a major hearing in the coming weeks to make the information public.
Gillibrand said the hearing would restore public confidence in the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), following a series of allegations from the military about the government covering up possible encounters with aliens.
At the hearing, a "progress report on the number of unidentified aerial phenomena [UAP] that AARO has assessed and analyzed, specifically outlining what AARO has identified and what it has not identified," will be made public.
“The hearing is my top priority because I think it's important that all information is made public,” Gillibrand stressed.
She also encouraged the public to report their UFO sightings to AARO UFO hunters.
