Dung Quat deep-water port – a national class I seaport, with a depth of 21m and independent of tides – is being invested in synchronous infrastructure by Quang Ngai, aiming to become the logistics center of the Central region.

Currently, Dung Quat area has 8 operating ports, of which Hoa Phat Dung Quat Specialized Port is the hub for transporting raw materials for Hoa Phat Iron and Steel Complex, able to receive ships of up to 200,000 tons, helping to reduce transportation costs and increase supply chain efficiency.

The Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks are reviewing and increasing the port capacity to about 90 million tons/year to meet development needs until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Continuing to invest in Dung Quat deep-water port is considered a strategic step for Quang Ngai to promote its role as a transit and logistics service center in the Central region.
