Promoting the role of women in the new era

Báo Đà NẵngBáo Đà Nẵng20/06/2023

Women not only play a major role in organizing family life and building a happy home, but also overcome gender prejudices, actively participate in social movements and activities, and contribute to the overall development of the locality and the country.

Actively participate in social work

For a long time, Ms. Ngo Thi Hoang Thi, Vice President of the Women's Association of Binh Ky 2B, Hoa Quy Ward (Ngu Hanh Son District), has been known as a young, dynamic, enthusiastic union official who is good at public affairs and good at housework. In addition to actively participating in the work of the Women's Association in the residential area, she also holds many other positions such as: Secretary of the Ward Youth Union, Member of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, Head of the Women's Group of Hoa Quy Ward... No matter what position she holds, she is always confident in herself, has the will to progress, and is the nucleus of all movements, especially competitions, cultural and artistic exchange activities. Returning to her family, she returns to being a responsible woman, knowing how to take care of her parents, husband and children, and cultivating happiness.

It is worth mentioning that no matter how busy she is, Ms. Thi always wakes up early to complete her family chores before leaving home to participate in work at her agency or association. Ms. Thi shared: “Only by taking care of the housework can women build a happy family. And, only with a happy family can women have the conditions to be good at national affairs. Being aware of this, I try to balance and arrange my time scientifically to complete my tasks well in all my positions and roles.”

After more than 4 years working in the Women's Union and Youth Union, supporting and leading the development of local movements, Ms. Thi believes that every task, no matter how small, must come from the heart and be oriented towards the collective interest. Only then can we unite, attract members to participate and complete assigned tasks well.

According to Ms. Thi, women have more limitations than men when taking on jobs, leading movements and activities because they have to take care of many family matters. However, that does not mean that women ignore their opportunities to step out into society. In today's era, women need to be proactive and actively participate in social work to increase communication, contact, and learn more knowledge and experience in life. From this knowledge and experience, women can balance their lives, do well in family work and gradually affirm their position and role in society.

“Families, especially husbands, need to have a more open and modern mindset, supporting and creating conditions for women to participate in their favorite jobs. From there, promote gender equality, multiply the cultural values of Vietnamese families,” Ms. Thi expressed.

Family is the support

Holding the position of Head of Women's Association Branch 13, Hoa Thuan Dong Ward (Hai Chau District) from 2018 to present, Ms. Tran Thi No has always excellently completed all assigned tasks, has been recognized for many consecutive years as a good association officer and is trusted and loved by people in the residential area. However, few people know that 5 years ago, when encouraged to accept the position of Head of Women's Association Branch, Ms. No resolutely refused because she thought she was not qualified enough, did not have the ability and time to pursue and stick with the association's work. Ms. No confided that in the past, she was shy and not good at speaking, so she was afraid that she could not take on the responsibility of the association branch. However, with the encouragement of her family and the trust of members in the residential area, she worked while gaining experience, trying to learn, supplementing her knowledge and skills to complete her tasks well. Over time, she increasingly loved the association's work, actively participated in emulation movements, and made the association a typical local women's association.

In her position, Ms. No always tries to overcome difficulties, be exemplary in her work, proactively arrange her time to ensure the completion of assigned tasks, in harmony with her responsibilities as a daughter, wife, and mother in the family. With association activities, she always volunteers to take the lead, regularly encourages, exchanges and listens to the thoughts and feelings of members to be able to support and help in a timely manner. At the same time, she links the association activities with movements of the neighborhood and residential areas to mobilize common strength, developing local movements. When returning home, she and her husband are exemplary in educating their children, always self-conscious, maintaining a simple lifestyle, close to neighbors, and regularly helping those in difficult circumstances in the area. Therefore, Ms. No's family has been recognized by the locality as a Cultural Family for many consecutive years.

“Family is the cell of society, if the family is good, then society will be good. Therefore, each member of our family always respects, supports and loves each other. This is the foundation and motivation for us to build a happy family and for me to be able to do a good job in the association,” Ms. No shared.
