Regarding the incident of taking a child to the doctor and discovering that the health insurance card had expired even though the money had been paid, on June 16, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, the leader of Minh Thang commune (Cam Khe district, Phu Tho) said that the Social Insurance of Cam Khe district, the Departmentof Education and Training of Cam Khe district and Ngo Xa Secondary School had determined that the entire school had 119 students who had paid for health insurance for the whole year, but the school only extended the card for 6 months.
According to the leader of Minh Thang commune, in the working minutes on June 13 of the relevant agencies, it was stated that on June 10 and 11, Ngo Xa Secondary School transferred two payment orders with a total amount of more than 45 million VND to overcome the shortage of cards from January to May 2025 and paid additional money to fully renew health insurance cards for students.

On the same day, speaking to reporters, Mr. Bui Ngoc Luan, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cam Khe district, said that through verification, the Department determined that the entire process of collecting, submitting documents, and paying health insurance fees for students at Ngo Xa Secondary School was not in accordance with the principles, causing resentment among parents and greatly affecting the district's education sector.
According to Mr. Luan, to overcome the above violations, the Department of Education and Training of Cam Khe district is coordinating with relevant agencies to fully extend health insurance cards for students from June to December 2025 to ensure the right to medical examination and treatment according to regulations. For cases that have paid in full but have not participated in health insurance from January 1 to May 1, the Department will coordinate with the Health Insurance agency to have an appropriate handling plan, ensuring maximum benefits for students.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Van Can (34 years old, Minh Thang commune, Cam Khe district) took his son N.D.P. (class 6A3, Ngo Xa secondary school) to see a doctor at Cam Khe district medical center.
During the medical examination procedure, after checking the health insurance card number, the hospital informed that P.'s health insurance expired on December 31, 2024.
According to Mr. Can, in January 2025, after the homeroom teacher informed him, his family paid the full health insurance premium for his child. However, now they discovered that the card had expired, so they informed the homeroom teacher and the school.
