On June 3, a reporter's source said that the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health issued decisions to punish many pharmacies that Dan Tri newspaper reported in a series of articles about "blatantly selling specially controlled drugs like selling vegetables".
Specifically, according to the penalty decision issued on May 30, the Thanh Mau pharmacy business household (355 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 4, District 3) was identified for 6 violations.

For the above violations, Thanh Mau Pharmacy was fined 46.5 million VND. The authorities also revoked Ms. D.BT's right to use her pharmacy practice certificate for 4.5 months.

At Phuc Minh 1 pharmacy (012 Lot C, Hung Vuong apartment building, Mac Thien Tich, ward 11, district 5), the Inspector of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health discovered 2 violations.
That is selling prescription drugs without a prescription; trading in goods of unknown origin (medicines worth less than 1 million VND). Phuc Minh 1 Pharmacy was fined 20.8 million VND.
In addition to the fine, the authorities also forced the pharmacy to destroy Cefixim 200 and Polydeson drugs of unknown origin; and forced them to return the illegal profits (VND 17.6 million) gained from the act of "Trading in goods of unknown origin".

Previously, when visiting a series of pharmacies in Ho Chi Minh City and researching on social networking sites (including the above-mentioned penalized establishments), Dan Tri reporters recorded the situation of selling specially controlled drugs in defiance of regulations at many establishments.
No need to ask for a prescription or buy for any purpose, as long as the customer has enough money, many pharmacies and "online markets" freely sell drugs that are inherently specially controlled according to regulations.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health admitted that the situation of selling specially controlled drugs in defiance of regulations at pharmacies in Ho Chi Minh City and on the internet is still complicated.
Authorities have been and are continuing to conduct inspections, supervision, and strict handling of cases of intentional illegal sale of prescription drugs and specially controlled drugs, posing risks to people's health.
