Tourism development associated with local image building

DTO - The Executive Committee of the Hong Ngu District Party Committee issued Plan No. 58 dated January 12, 2022 to concretize Conclusion No. 249 of the 11th Provincial Party Committee on continuing to promote tourism development, contributing to building the image of Dong Thap province in the period of 2021 - 2025. At the same time, Resolution No. 03 dated September 12, 2024 of the District Party Committee on developing community tourism in Long Khanh region to 2030, with a vision to 2050, was developed for leadership and implementation, bringing about many remarkable results.

The Party Executive Committee led the People's Committee of Hong Ngu district to effectively implement resources and attract investment to encourage and promote the implementation of local tourism development projects such as: prioritizing infrastructure support, reforming administrative procedures, thereby creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in the tourism sector. The district's functional departments regularly propagate, promote, call for investment and cooperate, introduce the image of the district on the mass media system; launch emulation campaigns on tourism development in the district . Along with that, organize thematic talks with the advice of some experts from Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) on tourism development in Long Khanh region, weekend rural markets, and eco-tourism spots in the district.

Regarding tourism development, contributing to building the local image, Hong Ngu district identifies developing typical tourism products for each tourist destination, diversifying products and building tourism brands as key tasks in tourism development. In particular, focusing on developing typical tourism types, ecology, dune bathing, resorts, experiential tourism, culinary, cultural - spiritual, intangible cultural heritage of Long Khanh weaving village. In order to preserve and promote the value of heritage, Hong Ngu district focuses on the restoration, embellishment and embellishment of relics such as: Long Thuan Communal House, Thuong Phuoc Communal House, Long Khuong Temple (Long Khanh A commune) which have been restored and embellished. In 2024, the locality will continue to restore and repair all ranked relics in the area (currently, the restoration and repair work documents have been completed and are being prepared for construction and are expected to be completed in 2025).

Ecotourism in the area attracts many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience the countryside scenery of Long Khanh Islet; experience the fruit garden of Long Khanh A commune; Ba Tuan vineyard (Long Khanh B commune); see the medicinal plant garden at Tien Dinh Ecotourism Site (Phu Thuan A commune); bathe in Tien River sand dunes. In addition, developing handicraft products from the traditional weaving village of Long Khanh A commune, visitors can experience the production stages (dyeing fabric, reeling silk, machine weaving, hand weaving...); visit ancient houses, stilt houses; experience activities with farmers... to diversify tourism products and services. In addition, in 2023 - 2024, Hong Ngu district has formed and launched community tourism spots such as: Thuong Thoi Tien town sand dune beach, Long Thuan countryside market, experience services at Long Khanh A commune community tourism spot.

Comrade Le Hung Dung - Chairman of Hong Ngu District People's Committee, said: “From 2021 to 2024, Hong Ngu district welcomed over 360,600 visitors, including 6,500 international visitors (exceeding the plan by 60,000 visitors). Total revenue from tourism activities reached nearly 74 billion VND, of which 5.3 billion VND in 2021; 16.375 billion VND in 2022; 37.2 billion VND in 2023, 14.685 billion VND in 2024. Thereby, contributing to building the image of Hong Ngu district in particular and Dong Thap province in general".

In the coming time, sectors, units and localities will continue to implement Plan No. 58 dated January 12, 2022 of the Hong Ngu District Party Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 249 of the 11th Provincial Party Committee on continuing to promote tourism development, contributing to building the image of Dong Thap province in the period of 2021 - 2025 in the district and Resolution No. 03 dated September 12, 2024 of the District Party Committee on developing community tourism in Long Khanh region to 2030, with a vision to 2050. Strengthen innovation in state management methods on construction investment, architecture, environment, security and order; have effective solutions in tourist management. In addition, promote measures to preserve and effectively promote tangible and intangible cultural heritages to attract tourists; build typical and specific tourism products of the locality. In particular, focus on investing, exploiting, and developing the potential and strengths of key tourist destinations, linking tourism development with the development of trade, agricultural services, traditional craft villages, and community tourism.
