Separated from the old Quan Hoa district, after more than 25 years of establishment, the mountainous border district of Muong Lat has made comprehensive development steps; especially the political system has been consolidated, the quality and efficiency of operations have been constantly improved, infrastructure has been strengthened, agriculture has shifted towards importing and applying some crops and livestock with high economic value into production; people are interested in planting new, protecting and conserving forest capital. However, Muong Lat has only 16/77 villages recognized as meeting new rural standards, no commune has met new rural standards...
The presentations at the workshop focused on discussing and evaluating the results of building programs, topics, and scientific and technological projects in the field of rural development, production development models, and new rural construction in Muong Lat district in the period of 2016-2022; the current status of agricultural production, policies and mechanisms, and solutions for new rural construction in the district in the period of 2023-2025, with a vision to 2030.
Some papers mentioned solutions for forestry economic development, forms of production organization, linking agricultural product value chains, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.
There are opinions exchanged: it is necessary to re-evaluate the potential and advantages of Muong Lat district in a more systematic way, to bring technological solutions suitable for local development; focus on developing indigenous values such as crops, livestock, indigenous medicinal herbs, even indigenous processing and preservation, moving towards replicating models and transferring technology.
Representatives of the authorities also informed about Resolution 11 of the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on building and developing Muong Lat district to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination shared: Muong Chanh Commune, Muong Lat District will receive additional support of 45 billion VND from the Central budget to focus on completing essential infrastructure criteria to promote production development, striving to meet new rural standards in the period of 2021-2025.
