Hua Na is one of the communes with small area and population in Than Uyen district. The whole commune has over 2,231 hectares of natural land, stretching along the fields along Nam Bon stream, of which the main area is forestry land of more than 1,274 hectares, agricultural land and aquaculture land of only nearly 160 hectares, the rest is other land. The commune has 6 villages, 720 households, 3,294 people, 3 ethnic groups Thai, Kinh, Mong living together, Thai ethnic people account for 99.06%.
Although there is little agricultural land, the fertile land and mild climate have created favorable conditions for local people to exploit the potential and advantages of concentrated cultivation, introducing new varieties of crops with high economic value into production. Along with that, the diligence and hard work of farmers and the correct orientation and drastic participation of Party committees, authorities and organizations have contributed to creating a prosperous and prosperous agricultural picture in Hua Na.
The model of growing grapes in greenhouses has received attention from the Party Committee and authorities of Hua Na commune, encouraging people to replicate it in the area.
Ms. Le Thi Hanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Hua Na commune excitedly shared: Implementing the key program on agricultural commodity production in a concentrated direction associated with the implementation of product consumption chain linkage, Hua Na commune has achieved many outstanding results. Currently, the commune is maintaining a concentrated commodity rice production area of 125 hectares/year, of which the specialty rice is 80 hectares/year, with 13.6 hectares of rice produced according to the standards of VietGAP good agricultural practices. The tea material area is nearly 27 hectares, with a total output of fresh tea buds during the term of 481.3 tons. The fruit tree area is over 28 hectares, mainly Taiwanese guava. Hua Na is the first commune to deploy a high-tech agricultural model of greenhouse grape cultivation with an area of over 1 hectare. The whole commune has 3 products achieving 3-star and 4-star OCOP, including: Hua Na guava, black summer grapes, peony grapes, and Than Uyen seng cu rice. In the past 3 years, the commune has mobilized people to expand the production area of vegetables, tubers, and fruits with over 20 hectares of winter crops, of which over 6 hectares are linked (cucumbers, cauliflower) with enterprises outside the province.
It is known that to achieve the above results, the Party Committee, the government, and the commune's organizations actively propagated and mobilized people to change the crop structure, change traditional agricultural farming methods to produce market goods. In particular, the commune always accompanies households in transferring science and technology, implementing models from land preparation, planting, care, disease prevention, harvesting and finding output markets for agricultural products. Along with that, the commune promptly implemented support policies to create motivation and joy for people to compete in labor production.

Mr. Tran Dang Truong - Acting Chairman of Hua Na Commune People's Committee said: Implementing Resolution No. 07/2021/NQ-HDND dated March 22, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council on the development of concentrated commodity agriculture in the period of 2021-2025; from 2022 to present, the commune has supported the construction of greenhouses and net houses for 1 household and 1 Hua Na Agricultural Cooperative (HTX) with a total cost of nearly 920 million VND; supported 3 OCOP products, including: guava, peony grapes, black summer grapes, with a total value of 120 million VND. In addition, 135 beehives were supported for 5 households and 31 households growing grass for raising large livestock. With this support, up to now, the economic models of the people in the area have all developed well, bringing high income to the people.
Coming to Hua Na commune these days, we were immersed in the bustling atmosphere of the people in the harvest season. The golden rice fields with big, round rice ears; the heavy rice loads on the shoulders but full of the joy of the farmers when having another bumper crop. In the greenhouses, the people were equally happy because of the heavy bunches of peony grapes and black summer grapes, ripe and ready to be harvested.
Mr. Lo Van Ninh - Director of Hua Na Agricultural Cooperative happily said: Currently, the Cooperative is growing more than 8,000m2 of peony grapes and black summer grapes in greenhouses. This year, both types of grapes have more beautiful fruit, larger bunches and more fruit than the previous crop. It is expected that in June, we will start harvesting the fruit and selling it to the market. Although it has not been sold yet, customers inside and outside the district have placed orders. The members of the Cooperative are very excited.
With the efforts of the local Party Committee, government and people, Hua Na commune is one of the bright spots of Than Uyen district in developing concentrated agricultural production associated with product consumption chains. Thanks to that, by the end of 2024, the average income of the commune will reach 47.5 million VND/person/year, reaching 103.3% of the Resolution of the 13th Hua Na Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
