The film was removed from the ticket purchase website of Galaxy - the distributor on the evening of May 19, after the news that Thuy Tien was arrested for investigation of the act of deceiving customers, according to Clause 2, Article 198 of the Penal Code. The work also disappeared from the list of upcoming films at this theater complex, although it was previously scheduled to be released on June 20.

On Facebook, the link to the film's fanpage is no longer available, displaying the message: "You are currently unable to view this content." Representatives of Galaxy and Bao Nhan and Nam Cito - the two directors of the film - have not responded to the incident.

Since early March, when Thuy Tien was involved in a scandal related to Kera vegetable candy, the crew had to stop many promotional activities. The producer had planned to show the film on March 8 but had to postpone it to June 20. In early April, when Thuy Tien was fined 25 million VND due to the scandal related to false advertising and had her departure from the country temporarily suspended, the distributor said the screening schedule would not change.

The film directed by Bao Nhan and Nam Cito caught the attention of audiences when it was introduced late last year, as the first domestic film project to exploit the online sales livestream profession. The script revolves around the busy life of Hoang Linh (Thuy Tien) - director of an online business company, and Mr. An (Quyen Linh) - a technology motorbike taxi driver. The film also has the participation of Quyen Linh, Hong Van, Hong Dao, Khuong Le, Le Loc, Mai Bao Vinh, Do Nhat Ha, and baby Moc Tra.

Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, 27 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City, studied the international hotel and restaurant management program at Hoa Sen University. She was crowned Miss Grand International in February 2022 in Thailand. She received the certificate of merit for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face of 2021 for young people in the field of art, awarded by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. In 2024, she starred in the movie Linh Mieu (directed by Luu Thanh Luan), with artist Hong Dao. The work attracted attention, earning more than 87 billion VND, according to Box Office Vietnam, but received many criticisms about the script.

On May 19, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (C01) issued a decision to temporarily detain her, with the accusation of violations regarding Kera candy in the case involving Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs. According to C01, Thuy Tien contributed 30% of capital to Chi Em Rot Company, and received profits according to this ratio. By the time the violations were discovered, the company had sold more than 135,000 boxes of Kera candy to more than 30,000 customers. Previously, she was also administratively fined for not clearly informing consumers about being sponsored when providing product information on social networking platforms.

In mid-April, Quyen Linh - the main actor of the movie Chot Don - was also involved in a scandal over false advertising, but he denied it. He said he did not promote or sell any products from the production line of 573 types of fake milk powder. According to the actor, some people edited old images of him, thereby creating a connection with the fake milk advertisement that caused a stir in public opinion. The Vietnam Cinema Association then sent a document requesting the Ministry of Public Security to consider handling the case of Quyen Linh "being edited by some individuals for advertising".
