Previously, the first images of the film “Tunnels: Sun in the Dark” introduced the character Bay Theo played by Thai Hoa and the fierce battle scene of the American soldiers. At the same time, the film title also brought feelings of both peace and pride when the resilient soldiers still saw hope even in the narrow underground.
The newly released poster also illustrates another ray of sunlight in the darkness.
The center of the poster is the image of Ut Kho - the youngest sister of the guerrilla team at Binh An Dong base. Ut Kho has a bright smile and hopeful eyes, holding a guitar and singing to her teammates in a cramped basement.
The stark contrast between the dark, stuffy basement setting and Ut Kho's bright face brightens the space, shining with hope for the future.
The character Ut Kho is built as a small but strong guerrilla, very emotional, devoted to her teammates and loves to sing. Director Bui Thac Chuyen revealed about the character: "She sings very well and loves to sing, often singing for everyone to hear." Despite facing countless difficulties and dangers, Ut Kho is a source of encouragement for her teammates.
Actress Hang Lamoon, who plays Ut Kho, shared that to ensure authenticity and depth in recreating the character, director Bui Thac Chuyen was very meticulous in selecting actors and helping them transform into their roles. The actors went through training sessions on the training ground, living with the guerrillas, to better understand the lives and psychology of the characters in the context of war, as well as to be inspired for their roles.
In addition, the film “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark” officially moved its release date to April 4, 2025, 3 weeks before the April 30, 2025 anniversary, in the spirit of celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification .
