Movie "Red Rain" releases first images - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

The movie "Red Rain" is a feature film about revolutionary war, built on script by writer Chu Lai, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen.

The film tells the story of the heroic, resilient and indomitable struggle of the people and cadres and soldiers to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972, a battle that contributed to the victory at the Paris Conference negotiation table, paving the way for the Great Spring Victory in 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.

The film’s teaser has just been introduced to the audience by the producer, with the image of flares opening the way for the bombs and bullets to explode throughout. “We only have the direction of the Thach Han River to move troops” - and so each group of soldiers drowned themselves in the water, each group of people quietly and carefully moved across the river. Even though the ground burned, the sky roared, even though the river water was stained with blood, those groups of people still kept moving forward.

The film features many young faces.

The audience gets to look back at the intense and emotional summer of 1972, told through the young, brave faces of Squad 1 - the young men carrying the enthusiasm of their twenties into the battlefield, with all their faith and patriotism.

They were just simple students or farmers, none of them were used to holding guns. However, when the Fatherland needed them, they did not spare their blood and youth, steadfastly staying and protecting every inch of land. The ancient citadel, ready to let "the age of twenty become waves, peacefully lapping the shore forever for a thousand years".

A large-scale studio was built in Quang Tri.

To recreate the historical context of the war at Quang Tri Citadel, the “Red Rain” film crew built a large-scale studio in Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province, next to the Thach Han River. A version of the Citadel was recreated in terms of geography and morphology with a system of trenches, tunnels, field meeting rooms, etc., and was also the location of the station.

The film stars Hua Vi Van, Do Nhat Hoang, Phuong Nam, Lam Thanh Nha, Dinh Khang, Hoang Long, Nguyen Hung, Tran Gia Huy.

The film is scheduled to be released on National Day, September 2, by Galaxy Studio.
