Ly Hai's film leaves theaters with revenue of 232 billion VND

According to statistics from the independent unit Box Office Vietnam, Flip Side 8 will end its theatrical run with a 232 billion VND , after about 2 months of release. This is quite an impressive number for domestic films, even ranking among the best-selling works of 2025, just after The Four Guardians , Detective Kien and Ancestral home.

However, the achievements of Flip Side 8 proved to be inferior to its predecessor project - Flip Side 7 ( 483 billion VND ). Or before that, Flip Side 6 launched in 2023 also pocketed 273 billion.

Officially premiered at the end of April, the film directed by Ly Hai has a tense chase with Detective Kien (Directed by Victor Vu) at the box office. In the first week, Flip Side 8 gain an advantage over the competition and take the lead in sales. But after only about a week, Detective Kien benefiting from positive feedback, they made a spectacular comeback. After being dethroned, Flip Side 8 cooled down significantly and the screenings were continuously reduced.

At the beginning, Ly Hai's film had twice as many screenings as its competitor (5,000 screenings/day compared to 2,500 screenings/day of Detective Kien ). But then, Victor Vu's film gradually regained balance. Currently, the revenue of Detective Kien as noted 249 billion dong .
