National Highway 2B leading to Tam Dao town, Tam Dao tourist area, Tay Thien scenic area has been invested in synchronously by the province and regularly repaired, fixing damages... However, traffic accidents still occur on this route, causing loss of life and property.
The reason is that this route has a very high traffic density at certain times , then decreases and becomes deserted; in the area of Km 2 + 500 there is Vinh Phuc Specialized High School and in the area of Km 4 + 700 of National Highway 2B there is a rest stop and a restaurant, so many vehicles stop and turn around, leading to local congestion .
Along with that, the situation of vehicle drivers is still subjective in participating in traffic when the road is empty as well as not having experience in handling dangerous situations... The route to Tam Dao town is a winding, zigzag mountain road, with fog and many people and tourists are not familiar with the road, driving skills are not good...
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Viet Van inspected the entire National Highway 2B and the road to Tam Dao town, especially the sections of road where traffic accidents often occur and pose potential traffic accident risks.
Through the inspection , Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Viet Van directed and assigned tasks to relevant agencies and units to properly implement the viewpoint "human life is above all", and urgently deploy measures and solutions to ensure safety for people and tourists participating in traffic.
In particular, the Department of Construction coordinated with the Provincial Police and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to deploy safety measures and solutions for people participating in traffic on National Highway 2B and Tam Dao town such as installing warning lights at some exits at Km 1+800 ( road to the Provincial Military School) and the old road leading to Luong The Vinh Street, Km 3 intersection with the old National Highway 2B, the entrance to Vinh Phuc Specialized High School; repairing lighting at some damaged points.
On the route from Km 13 to Km 25, National Highway 2B needs to expand existing rescue holes, survey and open new rescue holes along the route; install additional fan-shaped speed bumps; install flashing warning lights, pay attention; install additional warning signs, propaganda boards for traffic participants; install gantry brackets, reinforce, add guardrails, rollers, speed bumps, lighting... on dangerous roads, roads with potential traffic accident risks .
The Provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects, Tam Dao District People's Committee and Tam Dao Town People's Committee need to coordinate to promptly maintain and repair traffic packages in the town and complete them in May.
The police force coordinated to inspect the repair, installation, and addition of lighting systems to ensure visibility and observation for people; at the same time, reviewed all propaganda signs that affect the visibility of traffic participants, removed unnecessary signs that cause distraction for traffic participants ...
