On August 6, Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation came to survey the actual landslide situation in Dong Khoi and An Hiep communes.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chau Van Hoa surveyed the landslide in a section of the An Hiep commune landfill area. Currently, the local government has temporarily filled the land to reinforce it. |
In An Hiep commune, the delegation visited 3 landslide sites: the Giong Lan ferry area, Mr. Nam Ne's house and the An Hiep commune landfill area. According to the report of the An Hiep commune People's Committee, the whole commune currently has 10 landslide sites, of which the most serious is the An Hiep landfill area in Giong Ao hamlet, with a landslide section of up to 360m long.
In Dong Khoi commune, the delegation surveyed the actual situation of landslides on the banks of Ham Luong river and Vam Nuoc Trong river. The commune currently has many landslides, but the two most serious are: Ham Luong river bank in An Hoa 2 hamlet, eroding 20m deep and the land of Mrs. Huynh Thi Ngan and Mr. Nguyen Van Nghiem, eroding 20-30m inland. According to the records of Dong Khoi commune People's Committee, riverbank landslides are occurring more and more frequently and seriously, causing loss of a lot of productive land and damage to people's houses.

Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: There are some areas facing landslides, endangering people's lives and property. Response measures such as building embankments and reinforcing embankments are being considered, however, the implementation costs are still high. Mobilizing financial resources to implement disaster prevention measures is a challenge, due to limited local budgets. Close coordination between relevant agencies and units is needed to ensure effectiveness in response work.
In addition, the province encourages investors to participate in implementing waste treatment and natural disaster prevention projects. There should be mechanisms and support policies to attract and facilitate investors to participate. The process of selecting, appraising and implementing projects should be carried out in a transparent and effective manner. The implementation of these solutions will contribute to solving urgent problems, ensuring safety and improving the quality of life for the people.
