In Dak Song commune, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich directly inspected the local flooding and landslide situation and the response, rescue and relief work, and directed support for people to get to safety.

In recent days, prolonged heavy rain has caused water levels in Dak Song commune and neighboring areas to rise, isolating many areas, seriously affecting life and production.

Notably, 31 people from Meo village were trapped by floodwaters while working in the fields and could not return.

As soon as the incident was discovered, the Commune People's Committee contacted the people by phone to provide guidance, reassure them and ask them not to cross the river on their own. Local forces were quickly mobilized, using ropes to transfer food and drinking water to the trapped group.

Afterwards, the An Khe Fire and Rescue Police Team arrived and coordinated with local forces to carry out the rescue operation. With timely, professional and well-coordinated intervention, all 31 isolated people were taken out of the danger zone and moved to safety.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich acknowledged and commended the proactive spirit and efforts of the local government and the An Khe Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team and local forces for promptly rescuing and bringing people to safety.

At the same time, localities are requested to continue proactively implementing flood prevention and control work, helping people respond to and overcome damage caused by natural disasters; and ensuring safety in rescue work.
