On August 16, the provincial working delegation led by Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and inspected preparations for the new school year at a number of schools in Lao Cai and Cam Duong wards.

The delegation visited and inspected facilities and conditions for the new school year at the following schools: Lao Cai High School for the Gifted, Canadian International School Lao Cai (CIS Lao Cai), Lao Cai Ward Primary, Secondary and High School Cluster (Nguyen Du Primary School, Le Quy Don Secondary School and Lao Cai High School).

These are key primary, secondary and high schools in terms of student numbers and modern education . Many schools are the "leading schools" of the province in terms of teaching and learning.

At the places visited, local leaders and school principals reported on the preparation of facilities and professional training for teachers to prepare for the new school year.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness of the provincial Department of Education and Training and schools in preparing for the new school year. At the same time, she requested that schools continue to build clean and beautiful landscapes and facilities, fully prepare all conditions to welcome the new school year in a joyful and exciting atmosphere and achieve high results.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested schools to unite closely, focus on solving difficulties and problems when implementing the two-level local government model; continue to invest resources to build facilities and educational equipment, ensure adequate teaching equipment, especially mobilize social resources to improve school and classroom facilities; gradually invest in building modern, high-quality schools, smart schools.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the province is expected to have 1,040 educational institutions; of which preschool and general education have 1,017 schools, 15,479 classes, and 465,012 students.

Up to now, facilities, equipment and conditions for the new school year have been ready; 100% of students have textbooks for their studies. The whole province has 14,998 classrooms, the rate of solid classrooms is 86%.

The province is implementing 200 investment projects to build classrooms, subject rooms and auxiliary works; 85 classrooms, subject rooms, 125 boarding rooms, teacher offices and auxiliary works have been completed. The Lao Cai Specialized High School project is expected to be completed and handed over in August 2025.
