Below is the score distribution of the Geography subject in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program:

The average score for Geography this year is 6.63, lower than last year. However, this year there were nearly 7,000 exams with a score of 10.
More than 89,000 exams scored below average, accounting for nearly 19%. The score most candidates achieved was 7.75 points.

In 2025, the whole country will have nearly 1.17 million candidates registering to take the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program in parallel.
For 12th grade students studying the 2018 General Education Program, the High School Graduation Exam has renewed the exam plan with two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature. In addition, candidates can choose two subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages to take the exam.

Along with History, Geography is the Social Science subject with the overwhelming number of candidates choosing. Specifically, in 2025, Geography had 494,000 candidates registered to take the exam, ranking after History, Math, and Literature.
2025 is the first year of the high school exam of the 2018 generaleducation program. The Geography exam consists of 3 parts with 28 objective multiple choice questions, choosing true or false. Candidates take the test within 50 minutes.
Last year's High School Graduation Exam had more than 704,000 candidates taking the Geography exam, with the average score this year reaching 7.19 points.
It is worth mentioning that last year, 3,175 candidates scored 10 points, while in 2023, only 35 candidates scored the same.
