Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son expressed his deepest condolences upon hearing the news of the passing of comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Politburo member, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his deepest condolences to the Ambassador and all staff of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam. The Deputy Prime Minister sent his most sincere condolences through the Ambassador to the family of comrade Khamtay Siphandone.

After the funeral of the Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son was moved to write in the condolence book.

The content of the condolence book written by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son reads: "Continue to preserve and develop the good values ​​that comrade Khamtay Siphandone and generations of Vietnamese leaders have created, contributing to fostering the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to increasingly develop and deepen, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries."

Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed his emotion and on behalf of the Lao Party, State and people thanked the diplomatic staff in general and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son in particular for coming to pay their respects and write in the condolence book in memory of General Khamtay Siphandone, deeply expressing the special affection, close attachment, pure loyalty, and rarity between the two peoples.
