Discussing specific measures to promote substantive cooperation between Guangxi (China) and Vietnamese localities

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh and Vice President Liao Pinhu discussed measures to promote cooperation in all aspects between Guangxi and localities of Vietnam.

At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed the role of the gateway connecting cooperation between ASEAN, especially between Vietnam and China, and highly appreciated the important contributions of Guangxi to the success of the recent State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

Emphasizing that along with outstanding achievements in cooperation fields, local cooperation has always been a bright spot in Vietnam-China relations, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh said that Vietnam always highly appreciates cooperation mechanisms between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities, especially with provinces sharing a border.

In recent times, Guangxi and Vietnam have had strong and effective connections in terms of transport infrastructure, especially railways, roads, trade clearance, investment, import and export of agricultural products and many other fields.

Assessing the great potential and prospects for cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh suggested that the two sides continue to closely coordinate in implementing the common perception between the two countries' senior leaders and the contents of the cooperation agreements signed between Guangxi and Vietnamese provinces, laying a solid foundation for further developing the traditional cooperative and friendly relations between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh received a delegation from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region led by Vice Chairman Liao Pinhu on a courtesy visit on May 8.

Vice President of Guangxi Liao Pinhu emphasized that Vietnam plays an important role in implementing foreign affairs and cooperation of Guangxi, saying that for 26 consecutive years, Vietnam has always been Guangxi's largest trade partner, and the growth rate between Guangxi and Vietnam has always been maintained at a positive level of 16.4%.

At the same time, Vice President Liao Pinhu expressed his gratitude for the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in China as well as the Ambassador himself for always supporting and making practical and effective contributions to the friendly and substantive cooperation between Guangxi and localities of Vietnam.

The two sides also discussed specific measures to build smart border gates in the Vietnam-China land border area, promote cross-border trade cooperation, standardize quarantine and testing to serve the export of agricultural products to each other, etc. to continue promoting increasingly substantive cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities, effectively implementing the common perceptions of the leaders of the two countries, bringing benefits to the people of the localities of the two countries.
