Actively implementing high-level agreements between Vietnam - Laos

On May 25, President Luong Cuong received a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State led by Politburo member and Vice President Pany Yathotou to pay their respects and attend the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong. Vice President Pany Yathotou respectfully conveyed the deep condolences and infinite sorrow of the Lao Party, State and people to the Party, State and people of Vietnam and his family on the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong, affirming that Laos always remembers and appreciates the sentiments and great contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong in cultivating, consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

President Luong Cuong sincerely thanked the Central Executive Committee, the National Assembly , the Government and the Lao Front for National Construction for sending condolences on the passing of President Tran Duc Luong and especially for sending a delegation led by Vice President Pany Yathotou to pay their respects, demonstrating the deep affection, close attachment, and rare loyalty between the two Parties, two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

President Luong Cuong emphasized several key contents in implementing the Vietnam-Laos cooperation relationship in the coming time, including the effective implementation of high-level agreements between the two Parties and countries, as well as the results of the visits of high-ranking leaders of the two countries; he believed that with solidarity, unity and high determination, the two countries will achieve many new and greater achievements.

* On the same day, President Luong Cuong received Ms. Men Sam On, Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, President of the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association, who led a high-ranking Cambodian delegation to pay their respects and attend the memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong.

On behalf of the Party and State, President Luong Cuong respectfully expressed his thanks to King Norodom Sihamoni; President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate Hun Sen and senior Cambodian leaders for sending their deep condolences and sending delegations to pay their respects to former President Tran Duc Luong, demonstrating the sincere affection and attachment that Cambodia has for Vietnam and former President Tran Duc Luong personally.

Regarding measures to promote Vietnam-Cambodia relations in the coming time, the two sides agreed to actively implement the contents agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders at the meetings between the three leaders of the three parties of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos in February 2025 and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Reunification Day in Vietnam recently. The two sides also highlighted the importance of traditional values, solidarity, and mutual sacrifice between Vietnam - Cambodia and Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos, especially in the context of the current volatile regional and world situation.
