The funeral took place in the solemn atmosphere of the State Funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong.
To facilitate the Consulate and the Vietnamese community in the host country to express their condolences and gratitude to former President Tran Duc Luong, the Consulate General opened a condolence book in memory of comrade Tran Duc Luong on May 24 and 25, 2025, both in person and online.
Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung and all staff and family members offered incense to commemorate former President Tran Duc Luong, a loyal and dedicated leader who made great contributions to the cause of national construction and development during more than 50 years of revolutionary activities and held many important positions in the Party and State.

Speaking at the Memorial Ceremony, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung emotionally recalled the milestones in the life and career of former President Tran Duc Luong, especially his important contributions in promoting economic development during the renovation period and expanding foreign relations, gradually affirming Vietnam's position in the international community.
In particular, former President Tran Duc Luong and the Politburo directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to negotiate and successfully sign documents on land border demarcation and the Gulf of Tonkin with China, contributing to strengthening national sovereignty.
