VTV.vn - On November 14, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung led a Government delegation to inspect a number of key projects in Quang Tri province.

Approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy on March 23, 2021, Quang Tri Industrial Park (QTIP) is a project invested by a joint venture of 3 companies (Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Co., Ltd. (VSIP JV), Amata Bien Hoa Urban Joint Stock Company of Thailand and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan).

The project has a scale of about 481.2 hectares with a total investment of more than VND 2,074 billion; construction in 3 phases with implementation progress from 2021-2032.

QTIP has basically completed investment procedures and site clearance and land lease for phase 1 according to regulations; has been leased land by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province in 4 phases with a total lease area of ​​96.05 hectares and started construction on December 15, 2023.

The project is implementing the following items: leveling the wastewater treatment plant and industrial land lots; internal traffic roads; rainwater drainage system; wastewater drainage system; water supply system.

On the occasion of inspecting the VSIP Quang Tri Project, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung visited and encouraged people and families in difficult circumstances in village 9, Dien Sanh commune, Quang Tri province.

After listening to the concerns and aspirations of the households, the Deputy Prime Minister asked local authorities to come up with a plan to support people with boats, canoes and generators to respond in case villages and communes are isolated due to floods.

Immediately after that, the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation inspected the My Thuy Port Construction Investment Project. Approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 16/QD-TTg dated January 4, 2019, the project has a scale of 10 wharves to accommodate ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 tons. The investor is My Thuy International Joint Venture Joint Stock Company (licensed by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province).

Phase 1 of the project includes 4 wharves (progress from 2018-2025); total length of wharf edge is 1,300 m; items include embankment behind the bridge, dyke/breakwater, sand barrier 1,735 m long, embankment to protect the beach, dredging of turning basin, shipping channel and water area in front of the wharf. Implementation time is from 2024-2026.

Phase 2 has 3 wharves (progress from 2026-2031, total investment of 4,930 billion VND) and phase 3 has 3 wharves (progress from 2032-2036, total investment of 4,308 billion VND).

Up to now, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has cleared the land, handed over 133 hectares of phase 1 and is urgently implementing and handing over the additional 37 hectares of phase 1.

According to the investor's report, the construction of 300 m of breakwater has been completed; construction of wharf No. 1 and wharf No. 2 is underway (currently reaching 65%). The investor is actively focusing on equipment, human resources, and materials to simultaneously implement construction packages, determined to complete wharf No. 1 and 2 by March 2026. Construction of wharf No. 3 and wharf No. 4 is expected to start in September 2025, and be completed in November 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that My Thuy International Port is one of the important, dynamic projects with great influence and impact to attract investment, form, build and develop the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone and create a breakthrough in socio-economic development of Quang Tri province.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province needs to direct investors to focus resources on implementing construction to ensure progress, quality and safety to soon put the project into operation; at the same time, continue to call for investment in projects in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone to create a source of goods for the port.

Following the working program, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung inspected Component Project 2 - airport construction under the Quang Tri Airport Construction Investment Project, Quang Tri province under the public-private partnership (PPP) method.

The project is invested and built to meet 4C airport standards, capable of developing for code E aircraft; allowing the exploitation of irregular international flights and is a level II military airport meeting the exploitation needs of up to 5 million passengers/year.

The project is invested and constructed in 3 phases: Investment scale for construction of works completed before 2026; Investment scale for construction of works completed by 2030; Investment scale for construction of works after 2030; including a total area of ​​265 hectares, local budget (public investment), total investment capital of 233 billion VND.

The project has completed site clearance of 239 hectares to ensure construction of items; the remaining 25.9 hectares do not affect the construction items (waiting for completion of the resettlement area so not yet relocated). Site clearance is expected to be completed in 2025.

Since the groundbreaking ceremony on July 6, 2024, the investor has been actively implementing construction of investment projects before 2026 under the signed BOT contract.

Also on the morning of November 14, the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation inspected the implementation of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Project in the 2021-2025 period.

The site clearance work for the main route of the project has been 100% completed and has completed the following tasks: Relocating technical infrastructure works, building 13/13 resettlement areas to accommodate 454/454 households and relocating 788/788 graves.

The component project has been basically completed and put into operation since August 19, 2025. Currently, the newly generated service road area is being urgently resolved and completed by the Provincial People's Committee, directing the People's Committees of communes and wards.
