On the afternoon of November 12, Nhat Le Border Guard Station - Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard confirmed that it had just coordinated with local forces and people to successfully rescue 8 fishermen in a shipwreck incident at Nhat Le estuary.
Previously, at 11:50 a.m. the same day, ship QB-91138-TS with 8 crew members, captained by Mr. Hoang Viet Thanh (33 years old, residing in Ha Thon residential group, Dong Hoi ward), returned after a long fishing trip at sea.
The ship was entering Nhat Le estuary (about 500m from shore) when it was suddenly sunk by waves.

Upon receiving the news, Nhat Le Border Guard Station urgently mobilized officers, soldiers and motorboats to approach the sunken ship to rescue. However, large waves made the rescue work difficult.
After approaching and tying the ship to shore, the crew members took turns holding on to the rope and swimming safely to shore while the ship was broken into many pieces by the waves.
The border guard station said that the QB-91138-TS ship is 16.5m long, has a capacity of 450 CV, works in the cage folding business, and left Nhat Le port to fish on November 8.
