At the meeting, the two sides discussed many important issues on the security and order situation, especially the issues that have emerged on the Vietnam - Laos border in recent times; especially the activities of drug criminals and new methods and tricks. On that basis, Hue City Police and Salavan Provincial Police signed a coordination regulation to deploy a permanent working group on drug prevention and control in Salavan province.
The signed regulations aim to specify the direction of the two countries' Ministry of Public Security in the fight against drugs; improve the coordination mechanism between the two forces; increase the sharing of information and professional documents; improve the effectiveness of patrolling, controlling, restraining and preventing drug crimes on the Vietnam - Laos border. The regulations also create a basis for the two sides to proactively deploy professional measures, especially in complicated situations that require quick, direct and continuous coordination.
