The cool cowboy style is back!

The cowboy western look is taking over the runways and the streets, and all our favorite celebrities are getting in on the trend.

It’s no secret that Western wear is one of the hottest styles of the season. With plenty of leather, fringe and cowboy boots, luxury designers have fully embraced the country feel, as seen in the release of some unique Western-inspired collections this year.

Pharrell's Louis Vuitton men's Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Chanel's Fall/Winter 2023 Couture, where the house's classic tweed was paired with cowboy boots, and Chloé's boho-chic Spring/Summer 2024 collection marked a good start for the house's new creative director Chemena Kamali, among other things, paving the way for the revival of cowboy style in the fashion industry. And who can forget the release of Beyoncé's new country album with a cowboy-western vibe?

Of course, the creative directors of some of the world’s top luxury fashion houses aren’t doing all the heavy lifting. Musicians like Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus have recently embraced cowboy-inspired looks, particularly the gaudy cowboy fringe. While the trend has been slow to catch on, the announcement of Beyoncé’s 2024 country album, Cowboy Carter, and supermodels like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner embracing the Wild West era have made it a full-blown trend.

When describing this style, cowboy and Western are two of the most common terms used, but what do they actually entail? Cowboycore, as we’ve dubbed it, often features fringe, leather and suede, denim, bolo ties, and of course, cowboy hats and cowboy boots.

Let's take a look at the different ways celebrities have expressed their inner cowboy and made the Wild West style trend their own.

Beyoncé

While cowboy style had its moment in 2023, Beyoncé announced her new album, Cowboy Carter, at the 2024 Super Bowl, and then stunned in a super-chic cowboy look. There's no denying that once Beyoncé embraces a style, there's no going back. Here, the "Texas Hold 'Em" singer donned a brown latex dress, a western belt, a snakeskin jacket, and, of course, a matching cowboy hat.

Bella Hadid

A self-proclaimed horse girl, Bella Hadid has always had a love for cowboy culture, but this year the supermodel took it to the next level. After going public with her relationship with professional cowboy and horse trainer Adan Banuelos, Hadid began spending more time at her Fort Worth, Texas home and was regularly spotted at equestrian events and competitions. In the past few months alone, the model has been sporting cowboy hats, Western boots, and flared jeans on her Instagram page, signaling her endorsement of the style.

Kim Kardashian

In this head-to-toe suede look, Kim Kardashian wore a low-cut top paired with matching chocolate brown wide-leg pants. The reality TV star, model, and mogul topped off the look with a black cowboy hat that fans said looked a lot like Beyoncé.

Pharrell

Ahead of the debut of Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2024 men's collection, Pharrell, who currently serves as the brand's creative director of menswear, donned a white cowboy hat paired with a graphic T-shirt for a cool, comfortable outfit with a cowboy twist.

Emily Ratajkowski

While EmRata hasn’t gone full cowboy yet, the model has shown her love for cowboy boots time and time again. Her signature summer street style involves a flowing frock, and this outfit was no exception. For her 2023 appearance, Ratajkowski wore a silk floral midi dress, a black halter-neck tank, and camel suede cowboy boots. The model completed the look with a pair of silver hoops, oversized sunflowers, and a pendant necklace.

Harry Style

Ahead of the cowboy trend that emerged in late 2023, Harry Styles combined two of the year's major trends in one flashy look. The "As It Was" singer performed at the 2023 Grammy Awards in this metallic fringe jumpsuit, adding a fresh twist to his own cowboy style.

Miley Cyrus

In this bright blue look, Miley Cyrus opted for a sparkly denim vest and a wide-brimmed teal cowboy hat—with more rhinestones, of course. The singer paired the glam Western-inspired outfit with shimmering turquoise eyeshadow and super-straight blonde curls.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid has been a champion of cowboy style from the beginning. In a 2018 photoshoot, Hadid wore a pinstripe vest and skirt layered over a Western-style patterned shirt. To complete the cowboy look, the model wore a turquoise necklace and alligator boots.
