Specifically, the parent reflected: "If no other parent speaks up, I will speak up. I do not accept the irresponsibility of the school kitchen that led to the children's food being contaminated with cockroaches. My child is currently eating at the school. The first day there was 1 cockroach in the soup pot. The next day there were 4 cockroaches in the soup pot. Have you learned your lesson? Who is responsible for the children being poisoned? We need an explanation for all the parents who are feeding their children at Huu Bang Primary School."
Along with the information posted is a picture of a message in a group believed to be a class parent association, many people expressed concern when hearing the sharing. It is known that the information posted happened at Huu Bang Primary School, Thach That District, Hanoi .

Speaking with Dan Viet reporter , Mr. K., a parent with two children studying at Huu Bang Primary School, said that on September 10, many parents received information shared online about the discovery of insects in a student's meal.
"People said they saw it, I just heard about it. After that, the school also invited the police to get involved, and held a meeting with representatives of the parent committee and the meal provider. After the incident, the school temporarily announced that it would stop providing meals to boarding students until the authorities had a conclusion. For the past two days, my family has taken turns picking up our child for lunch and then taking him back to school in the early afternoon," Mr. K. shared.
On the afternoon of September 12, speaking with Dan Viet reporter , Mr. Nguyen Van Tuong, Principal of Huu Bang Primary School, said that immediately after receiving feedback from parents, the school invited the Thach That District Police to investigate and clarify.
"After verifying and identifying the insect in a student's meal with the tip of a chopstick, based on the description, it was likely a cricket, not a cockroach. It was raining on the day of the incident, so it was inevitable that insects from outside would fly in. After the incident, the school also temporarily suspended the boarding meals. When there is official information from the police, the process of reporting to the authorities to allow students to eat boarding meals again will be carried out. Currently, the police are still investigating," Mr. Tuong shared.
According to Mr. Tuong, the unit providing meals for boarding students is 5SPro Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Branch. The school has a contract with the unit providing meals with full legal documents.
Speaking with Dan Viet reporter , representative of 5SPro Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Branch said that on September 10, the unit received feedback information when the meal for students had ended.
"When we heard the news that there were cockroaches in the students' meals, we were also very surprised and startled. When the unit worked with the teacher and the parent who saw it directly, they said it was just an insect, not a cockroach to the naked eye. This is also an unfortunate incident. Another parent, upon hearing the unclear information, posted on social media that it was a cockroach. This caused confusion in the school and parents in the school. The story of insects flying into the meals is indeed unfortunate, but this is also difficult to avoid when the dining room door is open and not closed," said this representative.
Also according to the representative of 5SPro Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Branch, the process of providing meals for students always focuses on ensuring quality first.
"This is an unfortunate incident, parents basically understand and on the part of the meal provider, we always put food hygiene and safety first, the process always ensures 2-3 quality control gates. Next week, in accordance with parents' wishes, the unit will continue to provide meals for boarding students," he added.
