Binh Duong Women: From "Paperless Meeting Rooms" to Digital Business

The innovation of activities and application of information technology by all levels of the Women's Union of Binh Duong province has created habits such as "paperless meeting rooms", from which many women have started businesses on digital platforms.

Exploiting online platforms

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Thu Dau Mot City, said that in recent times, the Union has focused on directing, implementing with focus, key points, and investing resources in the application of IT in union activities and women's movements. "The Women's Union of Thu Dau Mot City has exploited online platforms creatively, flexibly, and effectively through upgrading and operating fanpages and Facebook groups. 100% of grassroots Women's Unions have fanpage accounts and have 348 Zalo groups and women's union groups to post, share information, promote activities, projects, and deploy work.

Thu Dau Mot City Women's Union applies digital technology to its activities

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy, in 2024, the Standing Committee of the City Women's Union implemented the motto "Paperless meeting room", scanning QR codes to receive conference documents instead of receiving paper documents. The software applications Powerpoint, Ahloha, Quizizz, My Kahoot application were applied, making work more flexible, faster and more economical. Updating and improving knowledge and skills in using information technology for Union officials at all levels are regularly deployed.

Thu Dau Mot City Women's Union has applied information technology to its activities, with the motto "Real models - Real activities - Real results" through Zalo OA channels, "AI news with the union", and established the "Women with information and communication technology" Club, expanding to 14 union bases.

Ms. Thuy said: "We also launched the Women's Association "Digital Application - Digital Life" and presented a laptop to the pilot association. Currently, the model has been replicated to 14/14 association bases. The bases have chosen to pilot 1-2 associations, and have equipped and supported 23 laptops and other necessary technical equipment."

Business on digital platform

The Phu Giao District Women's Union has been implementing effective information technology application activities, supporting members and women to improve their knowledge and application skills. In addition to women accessing information technology to improve their own capacity, they can also apply their understanding and agility in production, business and start-up activities.

Phu Giao District Women's Union has successfully organized the "Phu Giao Women Start-up on Digital Platform" contest system for many consecutive years. Accordingly, the contest is organized in direct and online formats including: 01 training program and 03 rounds. In each round, contestants continue to be trained and guided to practice to complete the requirements of the Organizing Committee. Contestants are divided into 2 groups: "Start-up" group for new contestants with intentions, ideas, looking for opportunities to start a business and "Acceleration" group for contestants who are already in business, wanting to perfect their business model, products, services, develop marketing channels, digital sales for growth.

Phu Giao District Women's Union invites experts to train women in business skills on digital platforms

To serve the competition, the Association has coordinated with accompanying units to organize capacity building training for women with ideas and projects participating in the competition so that they can build their own business model on popular digital platforms.

"Women have been guided to perfect their online sales marketing channels through channels such as Facebook, Zalo, YouTube, TikTok; practice making video clips to sell products through online shops...", said a representative of this Association.

Currently, the Women's Union of Phu Giao district is continuing to organize online business skills courses and digital startups for members and women who are doing business on digital platforms through the Vshop e-commerce platform... Initially, accessing digital platforms for business also made women confused, but through these courses, they have understood more and applied them more proficiently. If there are things they do not understand, they ask each other on Zalo groups or hold online meetings so that updating business on digital platforms is quick and easy to understand.

Ms. Luong Thi Nhi, Director of Tan Hiep Household Garment Cooperative, Tan Hiep Commune, said that her cooperative mainly sews uniforms and has promoted products and brands on social platforms, but she still attends training sessions to learn more professional and systematic ways of working. After the training sessions, she and many other women have made complete video products themselves, thereby helping to improve business efficiency and expand the product consumption market.
