Da Nang women firmly step into the digital age

Identifying the application of information technology in association activities as the key to help cadres and members open the door to the digital age, women's associations at all levels in the city have been promoting propaganda and implementing association activities on digital platforms.

From 2024, the City Women's Union will put into use software to manage cadres and members; software to manage funds to support women's development; and deploy the development of google map software for reliable addresses. Along with that, the Women's Unions of districts will promote the exploitation of websites, fanpages, and zalo to connect, gather, and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of members on the internet.

Up to now, 100% of the full-time union officials at all levels have mastered the basic software in their work; each district, county, and unit has at least one solution to apply information technology in organizing union activities. Things that were previously unfamiliar such as managing union members with electronic notebooks, organizing online competitions, and voting for creative products via social networks have now become work habits, performed proficiently and regularly by women's union officials from the grassroots to the city.

In addition to enhancing the application of information technology in performing union tasks, the Women's Unions of districts and towns have also created a number of new models associated with digital platforms, notably: "QR codes for shelters and trusted addresses" of the Women's Union of Thanh Khe district, "Online library of women's union documents" of the Women's Union of Cam Le district... Through implementation, the models received very positive feedback from cadres and members.

According to the President of the Thanh Khe District Women's Union, Nguyen Thi Kim Thu, in today's era, not only women, but also every organization and individual must master and basically master technological devices to integrate and develop. Therefore, the District Women's Union focuses on guiding cadres and members to grasp and proficiently use applications and software related to the activities of the union.

Along with that, knowledge and skills are imparted to members to use social networks safely and avoid fraud in cyberspace. “Currently, the activities of the district association are promoted and livestreamed on social networks for all members and people to access and participate. This is also a way to enrich the association's activities, attract members to participate, and build an increasingly strong association,” said Ms. Thu.

Most recently, the association at all levels has utilized social media platforms to promote the program of joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city. At the same time, it has mobilized support from the community and society to effectively implement this program.

Vice President of the Women's Union of Ngu Hanh Son District Nguyen Thi Duong said that the district union has identified this as a key task of the union in 2025, so it has stepped up propaganda on social networking platforms to call on cadres and members to join hands to support funding, working days, and speed up the progress of house construction and repair. In addition, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the district Women's Union organized an online program to learn about the history of Ngu Hanh Son District and the city, and exchange examples of revolutionary heroes.

“The application of information technology in association activities is implemented flexibly and creatively by local women's associations at all levels, helping the association to deploy tasks quickly and promptly, with high impact,” said Ms. Duong.

According to Vice President of the City Women's Union Nguyen Thi Huyen, the City Women's Union has directed all levels of the union to increase the application of information technology in union activities with many creative and drastic ways to keep up with new trends. In addition, it has implemented the work of monitoring, social criticism and proposals through digital platforms, creating conditions for all levels of the union to perform their tasks.

In particular, the association at all levels has been proactive in applying digital technology platforms to help promote, support, and connect the consumption of women's production, business, and startup products; established a Facebook page for the Women's Startup Club to create conditions for women to promote, exchange, and do business...

“In the digital age, Da Nang women are not left out. The changes in thinking and working methods, especially the building of digital associations, demonstrate the long-term vision and acumen of the association’s staff at all levels. Digital transformation is not only a task, but also an opportunity for Da Nang women to break through and affirm their role in the city’s socio -economic development,” Ms. Huyen shared.
