In early March 2025, Ms. Su Thi Phuoc Hiep (Quy Phuoc village) and 3 other poor women in Binh Quy commune received a breeding cow worth 15 million VND. Ms. Hiep said: "I am a near-poor household, now receiving livelihood support helps me have more motivation to raise my children."
Ms. Hiep is a near-poor household and is disabled. Earlier this year, participating in a dialogue with poor and near-poor households between the Commune People's Committee, the Fatherland Front and commune organizations, she expressed her wish to receive livelihood support to escape near-poverty.
Immediately after making her request, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee assigned her to the Binh Quy Women's Union for support and assistance. Along with the allocated resources, the Binh Quy Women's Union mobilized additional resources to support the livelihoods of households.
Ms. Vo Thi Hieu - President of the Women's Union of Binh Quy commune said that this year the association was assigned to help 4 near-poor and disabled households, including Ms. Su Thi Phuoc Hiep's household. To have resources, in early 2025, the association organized a 2-day rural market with many activities to raise funds for the association, supporting the livelihoods of disabled households and poor women.

"We assign the women's association in the village to provide guidance and support in livestock farming knowledge, and closely monitor livelihood support. If any problems arise, we must promptly inform the association so that they can resolve them," said Ms. Hieu.
Implementing the Resolution of the Women's Congress at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term, the emulation movement " Quang Nam joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", every year the Women's Union of Thang Binh district assigns each association to help at least 2 households escape poverty, near-poverty and households at risk of falling back into poverty.
The associations at all levels have organized many meaningful and effective activities by organizing forums and dialogues with poor women, focusing on mobilizing resources to help women escape poverty and near-poverty sustainably.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Trang - President of the Women's Union of Thang Binh district, from 2021, the Women's Union of the district proposed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district support from the District's Fund for the Poor in the form of a 60% support fund; the Women's Union will match 40% to eliminate temporary houses for poor members.
From 2021 to 2024, the Women's Union from the district to the grassroots level organized to provide livelihoods, build new houses, and repair houses for 316 households. As a result, 229 households escaped poverty and near-poverty, contributing to reducing the rate of poor and near-poor households in the district to 1.98% of poor households and 1.58% of near-poor households.
In addition, the “Godmother” program with 53 organizations and individuals sponsors 320 orphans; currently 38 children have finished the program and 282 children are continued by the association, with monthly support from 300,000 VND to 2 million VND per child.
