Women overcome difficulties from the project "Improving living conditions for women and children"

This is a project signed by Terre des Hommes - Germany and the Provincial Women's Union to cooperate and sponsor in 12 communes and towns of Ham Tan, Ham Thuan Bac districts and La Gi town to "Improve living conditions for women and children" in the period 2020 - 2025. The project was signed an agreement to be implemented from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2025.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen - President of the Provincial Women's Union, Head of the Project Management Board, acknowledged: During the implementation of the project, there were many difficulties, impacts of natural disasters and epidemics, but with high determination and sense of responsibility, the Provincial Project Management Board and the grassroots have closely coordinated to operate and organize the implementation of project activities, achieving remarkable results . A part of the people and women in the communes have invested capital in production development, starting businesses, contributing to increasing family income, reducing economic difficulties. Hundreds of children in difficult circumstances are supported to study, have access to a safe and friendly living environment , participate in social activities in the localities...

After 5 years of implementation, in 12 communes and towns of 3 districts: Ham Chinh, Ham Duc, Phu Long (Ham Thuan Bac); Song Phan, Tan Xuan, Tan Thang, Tan Minh (Ham Tan); Tan Thien, Binh Tan, Phuoc Hoi, Phuoc Loc, Tan Phuoc (La Gi). The localities have organized 73 classes/4,314 members, union members, and women participating. Training and guidance on the application of scientific and technical advances in production, animal husbandry, vocational training, start-up knowledge... contribute to improving the quality of life and building a prosperous, equal, progressive, and sustainably happy family.
Total disbursed capital at the beginning of the period: 9 billion VND/ 21 groups/ 369 loan members, gradually recovering capital and saving monthly, by the end of the cycle, 1,033 new members had been developed, bringing the total number of members receiving loans to 1,402 members . By May 29, 2025, the districts will recover the principal and interest and submit it to the Provincial Project Management Board, ensuring a rate of 99.7%. Of the total number of loan members , 70% of members have risen from difficult to average, 30% from average to good, reducing the number of poor women ...
