As a district with 7/12 communes and towns completing the temporary housing elimination program, Lam Thao has become a bright spot in the temporary housing elimination work in the whole province. The locality is currently implementing the elimination of 103 temporary houses to complete the proposed plan, of which 16 houses have been completed and are being handed over to the people.

Chairman of the Lam Thao District Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Manh Toan said that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a deeply humane policy, which the entire political system in the district has taken part in with the highest sense of responsibility and determination to mobilize all resources to support policy households, poor households, and households in difficulty to build solid housing.

Accordingly, the District Steering Committee has assigned relevant departments and offices to regularly inspect and supervise construction quality. In addition to funding support from the State budget, communes and towns have also proactively mobilized resources, labor, materials, etc. from families, clans, and communities to support households in building houses. For households in particularly difficult circumstances, the district has mobilized mass organizations and communities to directly participate in building houses for people.

Of these, there are 657 houses for people with revolutionary contributions; 1,307 houses for poor households; 317 houses for near-poor households; 84 houses under the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas.

According to the directive, for the houses that have started construction, it is necessary to focus on speeding up the construction progress, and for the houses that have not started construction, they must start construction before June 20 to complete before August 31. Particularly, housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs must be completed before July 27, 2025.
