Bac Nha Trang Ward proactively responds to floods and storms, ensuring people's safety

Faced with the complicated developments of floods from November 17 to 19, the People's Committee of Bac Nha Trang Ward promptly deployed response measures, evacuated residents and conducted rescue operations, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many areas in Bac Nha Trang ward have been deeply flooded in recent days. Traffic has been cut off on many roads such as 2/4, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Khuyen. Especially in residential groups along Cai river in the old Vinh Phuong commune such as Xuan Phong Xuan Phu, Trung and Tay, the roads are flooded from 1-3m deep, some places are flooded over 3m deep, affecting about 1,500 households...

Rescue forces of Bac Nha Trang ward rescue people

Mr. Le Dai Duong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Nha Trang Ward said that even before the flood occurred, the People's Committee of the Ward had proactively prepared vehicles including 1 canoe, 1 diesel boat, 1 corrugated iron boat, 2 buoy boats, 2 command vehicles, 2 trucks, 2 excavators and arranged 4 mobile teams ready to respond. Agencies and units were on duty 24/24 hours.

"As of 3 p.m. on November 19, the ward had evacuated 40 households with 106 people in the Trung and Tay residential groups to high, safe places, ensuring adequate food and drinking water. During the response process, the functional forces coordinated with the army and police to promptly and successfully rescue 4 people (including 1 missing person found, 2 residents and 1 police officer swept away by the water) in the Dong Lon spillway area and Trung residential group," said Mr. Duong.

Currently, the People's Committee of Bac Nha Trang Ward has requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to direct units to regulate the discharge of water from Am Chua and Suoi Dau lakes with appropriate flow to reduce flooding pressure for the downstream area. At the same time, it requested the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police to increase human resources and support equipment in case the situation becomes complicated.
